EV Charger Installation

Safe & effective electric vehicle charger installations

If you own an EV, having a dedicated EV charger is a near-necessity. Being able to quickly and easily top up your car overnight means you can head out in the morning without a second thought (or a stop at the gas station).

Cromwell Electrical specializes in high-tech electrical services and, unlike most conventional electrical shops, we keep up to date on the latest developments in EV charging.

Types of EV Chargers Installed

EV chargers are classified into different levels depending on how quickly they can deliver a charge to your vehicle. Level 1 EV chargers run on a home’s standard 120-volt outlets, and can take more than a full day to charge a vehicle. Level 2 EV chargers are connected to your 240-volt outlets, and can charge a typical electric vehicle overnight.

Cromwell Electrical installs Level 2 EV chargers in homes, and we hard wire them to your electric panel to seamlessly integrate the chargers to your home electric grid.

Cromwell also installs commercial EV chargers, such as DC fast chargers. Learn more about our commercial work.

Our team of experienced and professional electricians handles every design and installation, and we will assist you in applying for any available utility rebates for EV charger installation.

EV Charger Installation Safety

Cromwell Solar’s EV charger installation is done by our own licensed, certified, and experienced electricians.

Don't assume your electrical panel can safely support an EV charger just because there's space for another breaker. Many installers add 50- or 60-amp EV chargers without performing proper load calculations, which can result in an overloaded electrical system.

At Cromwell Solar, we perform a comprehensive load calculation before every EV charger installation to ensure your system can safely handle the additional demand. If your existing electrical service does not have sufficient capacity, we'll recommend the safest and most cost-effective solution.

Depending on your home's needs, that may include upgrading your electrical service or installing a smart load-management (adaptive) EV charger. Adaptive chargers automatically adjust charging power in real time based on your home's electrical usage, allowing your vehicle to charge as quickly as possible without exceeding your system's safe operating limits.

We believe EV charging should be fast, convenient, and—most importantly—safe.

Cromwell Electrical offers professional, turn-key EV charger installation using our own personnel. Based in Lawrence, Kansas, we install residential EV chargers within 75 miles of our office, and commercial EV chargers throughout the Midwest.
